FREETIME

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 13, 2026

Applies to: freetimewny.com, the Freetime mobile application, and any other websites, apps, or services operated by Freetime WNY (together, the “Services”).

1. Introduction

Freetime WNY (“Freetime,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates freetimewny.com and related applications to help people discover live music, events, and festivals in the Rochester, Finger Lakes, and Buffalo, NY region.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.

Freetime is currently operated as a DBA of an individual owner (“Freetime WNY”), pending formation of a formal business entity. References to “we” or “us” throughout this policy mean the current owner/operator of Freetime WNY.

2. Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile image from your Google account. We do not receive or store your Google password.

Usage and activity data. Information you generate by using the Services, such as:

  • Events, acts, performers, or venues you follow
  • Events you mark as “Interested” or “Going”
  • Festival planning selections (e.g., acts you tag as must-see)
  • Personal notes you attach to an event (visible only to you, unless you choose to share them)

Analytics data. We use analytics tools — currently Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Vercel Analytics — to understand how the Services are used and to improve features. These tools use cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as which pages you view, general device/browser type, and approximate location derived from IP address. This helps us fix problems and prioritize what to build next.

We have Google's advertising features (Google Signals) enabled within GA4, which lets Google associate this analytics data with your Google account activity for cross-device reporting and for Google's own advertising purposes. See Section 6 for more on this and how to opt out.

Ticket link activity. When you click a “Get Tickets” or similar link, we may log that the click happened (which event, which platform) so we can measure interest and, in the future, participate in affiliate programs. We do not collect or store any payment or purchase information — all ticket purchases happen entirely on the third-party ticketing site (see Section 5).

Information you provide directly. If you contact us for support, we collect whatever information you include in that communication.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate and maintain the Services (e.g., show you events you've marked as Going)
  • Improve and develop new features, using analytics on how the Services are used
  • Send you notifications you have opted into (see Section 4) — we never send marketing or notification emails unless you have affirmatively opted in
  • Provide customer support
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or misuse of the Services
  • In the future, support advertising on the Services (see Section 6)

4. Email Communications

We will only email you for notifications or updates (such as reminders about events you're tracking) if you have opted in first. You can opt out of any notification emails at any time through your account settings or the unsubscribe link included in the email. We do not send unsolicited marketing email.

5. Third-Party Ticketing and Links

Freetime does not sell tickets and does not process ticket payments. Ticket links on the Services take you to third-party platforms (such as Ticketmaster, AXS, Tixr, Eventbrite, or a venue's own site) to complete your purchase. Once you leave Freetime, that third party's own privacy policy and terms govern your information — Freetime has no visibility into what happens on that site, including any payment information you provide there.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices, accuracy, or content of any third-party site.

6. Advertising

We do not currently display our own ads on the Services. We do, however, have Google's advertising features enabled within Google Analytics 4 (Google Signals), which allows Google to use data collected through analytics — including activity linked to your Google account — for Google's own interest-based advertising and ad measurement, and to report aggregated, de-identified demographic and interest data back to us. This is part of how GA4 operates as a service and is separate from any advertising we run directly.

You can opt out of this in a few ways:

  • Turn off Ads Personalization in your Google Account at adssettings.google.com
  • Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
  • Adjust your device or browser's cookie and tracking settings

We plan to introduce our own advertising directly within the Services in the future to support the platform. When we do, this policy will be updated to describe what data is used to serve those ads, and we will offer a paid, ad-free version of the app as an alternative for anyone who prefers not to see ads.

7. We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information — including your email address, account information, or activity/tag data — to third parties for cash or other direct compensation.

One exception worth calling out clearly: because we have Google's advertising features (Google Signals) enabled in Google Analytics 4, some state privacy laws define that kind of data flow broadly enough that it could be considered a “sale” or “share” of information, even though no money changes hands. See Section 6 for what this involves and how to opt out.

We do share information in other limited circumstances, described in Section 8.

8. How Information Is Shared

We share information only in the following situations:

  • Service providers. Vendors who help us operate the Services (e.g., hosting, database, analytics, authentication providers like Google) and are bound to use the data only to provide those services to us.
  • Legal requirements. If required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Freetime, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers. If Freetime is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We'll notify users if this happens and if it materially changes how your information is handled.
  • With your direction. If you choose to make an event status, review, or note publicly visible, other users may see it.

9. Your Choices

  • Account data: You can review and update your account information at any time while signed in.
  • Notifications: Opt in or out of email notifications at any time in account settings.
  • Delete your account: Contact us to request deletion of your account and associated personal data. We will delete or anonymize it, except where we need to retain limited information for legal or fraud-prevention purposes.
  • Google sign-in: You can revoke Freetime's access to your Google account at any time through your Google account settings.

10. Data Retention

We keep your account and activity data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

11. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we've collected such information, we will delete it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us using the information in Section 14.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and any disputes arising from it will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Monroe County, New York.

14. Contact Us

Questions about this Privacy Policy or your information can be sent to: privacy@freetimewny.com

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Services grow — for example, when we launch advertising or new features. We'll post the updated policy here with a new “Last updated” date, and for material changes we'll provide more prominent notice (such as an in-app or email notification).
