“Mister Aubs.” is the artistic voice of Aubrey K. Barnes—a poet, educator, performer, and community arts facilitator whose work lives at the intersection of storytelling, healing, literacy, and human connection. Rooted in Rock Island and shaped by influences ranging from hip-hop and spoken word to literary writers such as James Baldwin, Mister Aubs. creates poetry that blends rhythmic performance with vulnerable reflection, social commentary, and emotional honesty.
